Indigenous Education Project
I was born and grew up in Dublin. I came to Guatemala in 1995 to improve my Spanish. I was so affected by the poverty I experienced that my whole life changed as a result. I ended up being part of a team that set up an educational Mission for Indigenous people in the Highlands. Although our mission is small, to date, over 60 young Indigenous men and women have graduated as professionals through our scholarship programme. God also blessed me with a lovely wife who is Indigenous and we have been blessed with a son. We have also been blessed with lots of nappies to be washed daily, which is not something we ask for but a consequence of having a son that fills our lives. My plan is to see out the rest of my days here with my family and hopefully be able to help many more break out of poverty through our Mission.
