Capacity Building Administrator

After hearing a returned VC volunteer speak in her parish, Sheila attended a VC overseas volunteering information session.  As she did not have prior overseas volunteering experience, she joined the VC Overseas Volunteer Preparation Programme in 2014 and quickly realised that she wanted to take up an overseas assignment as soon as she completed her training.

Sheila, a qualified teacher who made a transition to accountancy applied for an Administrator role with SHARPZ (Serenity Harm Reduction Programme Zambia) which is a collaborative agency, offering a comprehensive alcohol and drug service that can contribute to the prevention of alcohol and drug abuse/misuse/addiction/dependency and to reduction and management of the harms that are either directly or indirectly related to substance abuse.  Sheila’s role involves using her skills and experiences working with local colleagues to build the capacity and expertise of SHARPZ.
