VC is currently seeking a suitably qualified education professional for a 12 month funded assignment in Kiyinda Mityana Diocese Education Department. The aim of the role is help build the capacity of local staff in supervision, monitoring and whole school evaluations with the ultimate aim being general improvement of the quality of education provided and learning outcomes achieved by children in its diocesan schools. There are currently 364 schools within the diocese (13 nursery schools, 310 primary schools, 4 vocational schools, 36 secondary and 1 tertiary school – primary teaching college). Programme Development Officer, Nairobi, Kenya
VC’s partner in Kenya specialises in the areas of teaching, community based health care programmes, street children’s programmes and in services for special needs children. The key aim of this Programme Development Officer role is to assist with the creation of a development office function within Kenya. Together with a local Kenyan counterpart the Programme Development Officer would coordinate and manage the funder and donor support programmes across the partner’s six sites. Early Childhood Development Specialist, Mongu, Zambia
Our mission partner runs a Cheshire Home for children with physical and intellectual disabilities in Mongu. The engagement of the Early Childhood Development Specialist with specific qualifications in Child Development will aim to increase the capacity and effectiveness of the existing programmes thereby reaching more parents and children and facilitating early intervention with a view to improving the life situation of children with developmental disabilities. The VC Volunteer Early Childhood Development Specialist will work alongside an existing Zambian staff members to transfer early childhood development skills, to reinforce the effectiveness of the existing Mother and Baby Training Programme. The VC Volunteer will also assist in the development of an outreach programme to educate families and reach children with disabilities earlier in their development to improve their quality of life and independence.
