Join our Volunteer Panel
Prospective volunteers may also be considered for overseas roles by completing the VC Venture Programme. Participants who complete all modules of the programme and wish to be considered for overseas placement are eligible to join our Volunteer Panel. When we receive a new request for a volunteer, we firstly look to those on our Volunteer Panel. Those on the Panel will be updated on all vacancies in a regular newsletter.
Volunteer Allowances and Payments
Most of our roles allow for skilled volunteers/development workers to receive a monthly living allowance, return airfares from Dublin to their country of assignment, as well as contributions towards vaccinations and insurance. Please note that most of roles are for a 12 month duration with options for renewal.
Fundraising Requirement
All volunteers who have been successful in finding an overseas placement are asked to contribute a minimum of €600 to VC towards the cost of their placement. Fundraising this amount can be as easy as holding one or two coffee mornings in your local community, holding a table quiz or speaking in your local parish or just asking family, friends and colleagues to fundraise for you! The fundraising requirement forms part of the pre-departure process.
