Life Skills Project Co-Ordinator

I am on assignment in Zambia since March 2009.  At present I work as Assistant Co-ordinator  in a project called “Future in My Hands” which is under the management of the CIC Sisters (Congregation of the Immaculate Conception)

FIM Hands is a very beautiful Innovation and Life Skill Centre which is still growing.  The main target group is young women of all abilities 16 – 25 years of age. We also cater for young men. The CIC Sisters offer a holistic and unique approach to learning.  Courses include self-Discovery, Arts and Crafts, Tailoring, Horticulture, Gardening, Entrepreneurship and English Literacy.  One of the students is sharing his sign language skills.   A community outreach programme is also provided under the FIM Hands project.

I love being part of such a wonderful centre. Stool making, Rosary, bead making, jewellery making, card making, Entrepreneurship and self discovery are some of the topics I teach.  I also share my love for music in the local Parish.
